EXERCISE2 : Balance&Emphasis Movement&Repetition
(part1: Brief reflection for this week. part2:recap lecture.
part3:the design of "REPETITION and Emphasis.)
part1:
This week, i had my second week of study. Dr.P is very patient, and i have also made some progress in listening. Whether go to Google check or consult my classmates, gradually know more about how to learn well in this course.

part2.1 (lecture2)

                                    Balance
  1. Distribution of visual weight.
  2. Visual equilibrium.
  3. Symmetrical or Asymmetrical

1.SYMMETRICAL BALANCE
(This design looks at both sides symmetrically from the central cut. Both patterns and colors are symmetrical.)
2.APPROXIMATE SYMMETRY

1.ASYMMETRICAL BALANCE

2.The Starry Night
THE GOLDEN RATIO

"Golden Ratio" can be used here to define the widths of panels, sidebars or even height of the views. The first known calculation of the golden ratio as a decimal was given in a letter written in 1597 by Michael Mästlin.

The Mona Lisa's famous painting explains what the golden ratio is:

Emphasis
Dominance and focus
The definition of emphasis is special attention put on something to give it importance.

just like this picture

part2.2( lecture3)

                                 REPETITION

The act or an instance of repeating or being repeated.
  • Seem active.
  • Creates rhythm and pattern.
  • Avoid monotony.
  • Visual excitement& enriching surface interest.
EXAMPLE:

The cross patterns and square patterns on both pictures are repeated.

    Another example is this design:
These same person in the picture are constantly walking around.
                 Repeat the same action.
                                        MOVEMENT

Movement is when the living organism moves a body part or parts to bring without a change in the position of the organisms
  • In, around, and through a composition.
  • Seem to be moving.
  • Comes from the kinds of shapes ,forms, lines, and curves.
part3                          My design of 'Balance '& 'Emphasis'.

This design is about"balance", a simple painting i want to express is that even if the size of the ball is different, the angles of the two lines are tilted. But under the action of different weights of the ball, it can still maintain balance.

This design is about" emphasis". A red eye is especially obvious in many black eyes, which can be seen at a glance.
